Spettri Music by Frank Pilato
Frank Pilato - Spettri

Spettri is an initiatory path in six steps: an emotional collection turns to cause a clear awareness of the real fears and the emotional blocks of the human kind. Every track talks about a specific soul spirit, trying to explain the inner journey, feelings, thrills in all their sensitive and subtle shades. Album recorded, mixed and mastered in 6 days using the first two takes in the 3 sessions as a live studio ep. This work has been produced by Regione Toscana in collaboration with Toscana100band.

"6711 Yucca st" I wrote this piece in 2005 when I lived in Los Angeles at 6711 Yucca st in Hollywood when I realized that there was something beyond rationality and known.

"Spettri" is a collection of thoughts, concepts, ideas of particular moments in my life that I've been forced to deal with sooner or later. Every shades talks about a specific soul spirit.

"Oktophobie" inspired to Karlheinz Stockhausen's Oktophonie represents the summary of the human fears.

"Psicomagia" Alejandro Jodorowsky: "The aim of a psycomagic rite is to release us from the mental cage that our family, society and culture leave us." Meeeting Jodorowsky changed deeply my vision of art and life.

"Golden Vanity" When I wrote Golden Vanity I was get in touch with shamanic tribes: they completely dyed my whole body golden and this has been a very important rite for me that consecrated my "recognition of the sacred himself".

"L'Innamorato" the Major Arcana number VI of the tarots is called the lover. That tarot pushes us to ask ourselves about our emotional life.

Stories Frank Pilato Andrea Marcelli
Frank Pilato - Andrea Marcelli

Debut solo album by guitarist Frank Pilato, playing the music of Andrea Marcelli, for a very special project, with a story over 20 years long...
Andrea Marcelli after recording two critic acclaimed albums for Verve/Polygram "Silent Will" in 1989 and for Verve and Lipstick Rec. "Oneness" in 1991, composed the music for the new album "Stories". This new project was partially recorded in June 1993, engineered by Allan Holdsworth, as the first recording made in his newly built Brewery studio in Vista, California. The music was envisioned by Marcelli for an electric guitar as main soloist. Holdsworth could not play for contractual problems so the album was not finished. During the following years Marcelli kept playing Jazz world wide and moved from Los Angeles (1989) to New York in 1997 and then to Berlin in 2001. He always had in mind to finish his project "Stories". Some years later he finally came into contact with Italian young and talented electric guitarist Frank Pilato, who also lived and played for a while in Los Angeles.
Frank took the challenge and responsibility to successfully record and finally finish the album, in 2015, together with engineer Matteo Guasti at the Labella Studio in Florence. Pilato wanted also to contribute with a new composition and recorded with Marcelli an inedit guitar/drums duo! The band includes an exceptional rhythm section with Marcelli's long time collaborator pianist Mitchel Forman, plus bassists Gary Willis and eJff Berlin! A very special project which embraces over 20 years of personal stories.
